South Asia Partnership Sri Lanka
http://sapsri@slt.lk– South Asia Partnership Sri Lanka (SAPSRI) was established in 1981 and has been actively involved in supporting over 500 village-based organizations to uplift the socio-economic status of the country’s marginalized population. In its early years, SAPSRI acted primarily as an intermediary between community-based organizations and donor agencies. Since 1992, SAPSRI has focused its efforts on long-term development by introducing the Cluster Development Program, which forms the core of SAPSRI programs today. The Cluster Development Program is a people-centred development model that links groups with shared concerns into self-reliant communities. The Cluster Development Program, now active in more than 150 villages in 10 districts across the country, helps empower individuals by strengthening their capacity to improve their lives and communities. SAPSRI continues to build human capacity through programs that focus on the following areas: human resource development, enterprise development, child-focused development, promotion of peace and harmony and local governance. SAPSRI has broadened its network of support to include innovative partnerships with international non-governmental organizations, citizen’s groups and the private sector. It has developed local networks of CBOs in different parts of the country, many of which include peace and reconciliation activities among ethnic groups in their programming.

Sri Lanka Centre for Development Facilitation (SLCDF)
http://E-mail: slcdf@slt.lk– The Sri Lanka Centre for Development Facilitation (SLCDF) evolved from a 15-year program under the name of Sri Lanka Canada Development Fund. This program was managed by SAP Canada in cooperation with SAP Sri Lanka and funded by CIDA/Sri Lanka. Begun simply as a fund for other NGOs, it moved into long-term programming and capacity building with emphasis in the rural areas. SLCDF focused and gained expertise in three sectors – dry zone development revitalization, fisheries and plantation areas. In later years it formed and nurtured a national structure of CBOs and NGOs, gathered in District Consortia, which in turn formed the National NGO Action Front. Today SLCDF is known as the Sri Lanka Centre for Development Facilitation and is an independent Sri Lankan organization. It continues its work as a capacity builder and support agency to other NGOs, is taking up rehabilitation and reconstruction in the North and East, and arranging for new donors. It remains within the SAP International family as a program affiliated organization.
