Donate To SAP Canada: Make The Link Between Canada and South Asia
When City Councilor Patricia Pinto returns to her home in the Indian state of Goa, after a visit with her counterparts in Canada, she will be showing her city council photographs of Canadian garbage cans.
“We don’t have garbage cans in Goa,” she said. Ms. Pinto sees the garbage cans as a innovation that she could use to keep the streets of her state clean.
Canadians also learned from Ms. Pinto. While in Canada, Ms. Pinto told Canadians how she as an environmental activist, helped organize a state-wide effort to collect all the plastic bottles and bags drifting in the streets and caught in the brush. The Goan environmental movement mobilized the population and they created three mountains of plastic for the state government to recycle.
South Asia Partnership Canada links South Asians and Canadians so they can share ideas and innovations. We need your support to continue doing this valuable work. Donate today.
